Wedding Dress Shopping For The Fun of It
My husband, Matt, and I were married on June 7th 2014 in Dillon Colorado. The very first time I tried on dresses it was mostly for fun and to try to determine what kind of wedding dress I really wanted because I was torn between two different ideas — a form fitting basic lace gown or a simple satin ball gown look. I made appointments at three different shops and brought along my mom and Matt (because it was all for fun and I didn’t plan on finding a dress yet).
I tried on a bunch of dresses at the first two stores and had a great time but didn’t find anything that I just had to have. The third place we visited was a bridal boutique in Aurora, Colorado called Chiyos, and that is where I found my wedding dress, “Decadence” by Maggie Sottero.
Mom Finds the Perfect Wedding Dress
My mom got misty eyed when I came out of the dressing room and my future husband told me that this was the dress I was going to buy because the look on my face said it all. I tried to pretend that I had in fact not found “the dress” and Matt played along for my sake, but it was pretty obvious I think that “Decadence” was the one. Although I had tried on an ivory taffeta design, I wore the diamond white “Decadence” gown on my wedding day.
