A Wedding Dress Story by Jamie Lam
The search for my wedding dress began in my hometown of Temple City along Las Tunas Drive, which some have dubbed “Bridal Row”. I imagined I would spend the whole day swimming around in beautiful big dresses, and I couldn’t wait! Mom and I started in a small corner bridal/prom dress shop and, to be honest, I don’t think I was expecting to find anything at my first stop.
As always, I let my Mom’s keen eyes choose the first dress. Maggie Sottero’s Rowena in Alabaster. Absolutely gorgeous. Perfect. But wait … what happened to my day of back-and-forth debating and piles and piles of discarded dresses? So I tried on another. And another. Nope, Rowena was the one for me. I guess it was love at first sight 🙂
On a side note, Mom and I are shopaholics and though we only spent half an hour finding the perfect wedding dress to walk down the aisle in, we didn’t waste the day … I ended up with 7 dresses spread over two days of wedding festivities, though none as special as this one!

Jamie”s Wedding Gown Preservation
We were very happy to clean and Jamie’s wedding dress and give it a museum quality wedding gown preservation. Her gown is a Maggie Sottero satin dress with lace appliques and bead work.
